This piece, along with Feedback bouquet, Entropía, Aplausos and Sonata cromática, encompasses a period of critical and conceptual exploration of the mass media and the spectacle’s forms of manipulation.

Medios vacíos is an installation made up of a massive mosaic on the floor with empty jewel box type compact disc boxes. The boxes are placed in a hallway or corridor and are gradually crushed by the footsteps of people walking on them. The result is a tapestry of sound made up of the squeaks and creaks of the plastic covers as they break.

This work reflects upon the transformation of music into musical merchandise and the material condition of its massification.
