ARADA

ARADA, 2007, rev. 2020

ARADA is the acronym of booing, laughter, applause, disappointment and astonishment (Abucheos, Risas, Aplausos, Decepción, Asombro). This piece is an extension of the previous work Aplausos.

The piece is a score made of luminous signals that give rise to a sound action. By turning on and off in a random and ever-changing way, the five light boxes indicate to a group of people or chorypheus the reactions they should vocally represent.

Just like Aplausos, this work reflects upon the need for control of the mass entertainment media.
