Música excepcional: Propuestas y reflexiones en torno a las músicas creativas y lo ritual, 2021
“This is a personal essay made up of observations, comments and ideas based on my praxis and personal experience on what occurred in the creative music scene in Mexico during the last decade. These thoughts deal with both practices that in parallel and as complementaries have been the axis of my professional life for the last two decades: the creation and promotion of creative music…I believe that turning our ears and gaze to the relationship between rituality and music is a possible path for our work to rediscover its essential value in society.”
This compilation is made up of 12 texts, selected through an open call entitled «The need for a pause. Essays on the current state of the performing arts in Mexico", which emerged in the midst of the COVID 19 confinement, in order to analyze and reconsider the reality of the performing arts.
The open call and publication were a joint initiative of Direcciones de Música, Danza y Teatro and the Cátedra Ingmar Bergman para Cine y Teatro, UNAM.
